Considered the dwelling place for the
"sacred ones" by the Navajo people.
At nearly 7,000 feet it rises above the
high desert of northwestern New
Mexico, and ca be seen from many
miles away in almost any direction. To
some it is a type of desert lighthouse
because it offers guidance to those
that may become dioriented in the
expanse of badlands, cliffs and dry
washes in the region. Bring your own
toilet paper!
