These photos are from the
Colorado ghost town of
Animas Forks. Animas Forks
was built in the late 1800's by
prospectors seeking silver,
gold, lead and zinc. The town
is located 12 miles Northeast
of Silverton Colorado nestled
in the San Juan mountains at
an elevation of 11,200 ft.
The structures are currently
being restored and preserved
for everyone to enjoy for
generations to come.
Now, join me as I take a
journey back in time...

discoverer of the famous Campbird
Mine and once owner of the Hope
Diamond. 2-9547

Columbus Mill
Bagley Mill
Harsh and often rapidly changing
weather conditions were a way of life.

Constructed in 1912, this mill is an
unusual example of prefabricated
construction. Its pieces were pre-cut,
per-fit and coded with numbers and
letters before being shipped to the site
for assembly. 2-9546
